Wellington Jazz Club invites you to come and enjoy the music of Geoff Culverwell's 'Picture This' Trio @ Chicago Sports Bar on Sunday 15th July 2012 – 5pm to 7pm.

Supporting Band starts at 4.15pm.
Geoff Culverwell: Horns and vocal. Geoff plays trumpet, flugel horn and flute.
Jim Perkin: Guitar
Mitchel Watson: Double Bass
Jazz Genre: The concert will be an eclectic mix of Latin and swing jazz in the first set. Then turning to euro-fusion (funky jazz ) with a couple of surprising guests.
Jazz Styles: Ballads are soulful and searing and influenced by Miles Davis, Chet Baker & Nina Simone.
Funk/Smooth jazz is hip influenced by Terrance Blanchard, Roy Hardgrove and Wes Montgomery.
Latin is hot, influenced by Art Pepper and Arturo Sandaval.
Swing goes from cool to high speed. Influences are John Coltrane and Chet Baker.
Contemporary jazz influences are Pat Metheny, The Beatles, Robin Ford and Nina Simone.

Supporting Band: "Lucy and the Absentees from the New Zealand School of Music, Young Musicians Programme, tutored by Michael Crawford. A jazz quartet plus singer Lucy Brewerton from Wellington High School will perform jazz standards.
